Welcome to Michal Designs. I design and create all my pieces in San Francisco. Working with local casters and stone dealers who are ethically and environmentally conscious. I look forward to working with you and if you have any specific questions that I can help you with please feel free to contact me.
GIVING BACK
I believe in giving back to the same source that inspires me - the ocean. I have been following an organization based in Half Moon Bay, Sea Hugger, focused on protecting and healing the marine environment from plastic pollution through action and education to drive systemic change that addresses the root cause of the issue. PACKAGING
Your jewelry will arrive in an organic cotton bag that can be reused for your jewelry or any other treasures. It will be wrapped in a box with dried flowers and a polishing cloth. Packaged with love!
SHIPPING
Your order will be shipped 3 - 5 business days after purchase. If there is a problem with your order you will be notified immediately. If you need it sooner please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
“Made for you” jewelry could take up to 3 weeks for design, construction/fabrication and shipment from the date of purchase. I will communicate with you once the purchase has been made. If you need the piece sooner please feel free to contact me.
I ship via USPS and will provide you with a tracking number. I send packages with signature required. If the package is marked “delivered” I am not responsible for replacing your order. You can submit a lost package claim with USPS here.
I know that most companies will replace a lost package however, I am a small busines and cannot afford to replace a lost or stolen item.
When you receive your jewelry, I would love for you to send me a photograph of you wearing it!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
I am excited for you to adorn yourself with my jewelry and have some simple care tips.
Metals oxidize and tarnish overtime when exposed to your body oils, oxygen, lotions, perfumes, chlorine from a pool, saltwater from the ocean etc. I recommend polishing your piece regularly and for your convenience included a polishing pad with your jewelry purchase. You may also wash with a mild soap and scrub lightly to remove some of the oxidization. Avoid using harsh chemicals and cleaners, especially if there are stones in the piece. Chemicals can ruin the polish on a stone.
CUSTOM
Custom designs are available, I love working with people to create the right design and style for you. If you have a custom piece you would like to work with me on please contact me to discuss your needs. You can also view my gallery to view some custom designs.
MADE FOR YOU
Also know that I often offer “Made for you” designs and post them on the website as well as on instagram - follow me to see what I am creating @michal.designs.
What does "made for you" mean and how is it different than custom. Custom means that we start from scratch. You have an idea and we work together to design it. Made for you means that I will find unique stones or sometimes metals that I will create a design but will pause for your ring size, or if you want it turned into something else. Please contact me to discuss your needs and you can view my custom gallery.
Made to order and custom orders may take longer to design and create as well as ship so please account for this time.
REFUNDS
At this time refunds are not accepted. Particular cases will be considered and I will allow exchanges or store credit. The return will need to be completed within 14 days of purchase and you will need to contact me directly.
REPAIRS
If your jewelry needs repair within the first 14 days I will gladly repair it for free. If your jewelry needs repair after common wear and tear, please contact me and I will work with you to fix the piece. Note that I will need to charge you for my time, materials and shipping to fix the piece.
RING SIZER
Many people don’t know their ring size or if you are buying a gift for a friend, loved one you probably don’t know their ring size.
I offer a ring sizer for $3 and will mail it to you. If you decide to purchase a ring from me, I will apply a $3 credit. Or if you purchase jewelry that isn’t a ring I will send you one with your package.
When you receive the ring sizer, yes it looks like a zip tie, but don't worry it will not lock. You want it just tight enough that it goes over your knuckle. So size it to your knuckle then slip it down to your finger. See how it feels. You want it to be able to slide it off, but not too easily. Here is a useful video to help with the ring sizer.
